  1. Still spreading the word about TDM on forums to new peops... Funny to see people say "Awesome, I loved playing Thief back in the day!"

Yes it was in a discussion where someone was saying how unhappy they are with the way game companies grant themselves permission to do whatever they like to your PC and personal info today. I pointed out that giving up games completely is an unnecessarily overkill solution when there are free games like TDM to play.

Honestly the mod/Indie genre is still really booming right now. And they aint got no reason to do shady invasive privacy bs.

  2. EDIT: Trailer is up Interview with the team: --- original post belo Rumors say March 2020 release. I'm both excited and terrified. It's really difficult to make a good VR game. On one hand the Kerry Davis VR game development presentation shows they're trying to tackle the nuances of VR interaction that really bring virtual worlds to life. But on the other hand Valve has been very cautious about inducing sim sickness in the past. The limitations imposed on the player to prevent sim sickness are in conflict with player agency and interaction is (IMO) VR's strongest value proposition. One gets accustomed to the spectacle of the VR perspective and the visuals in today's headsets have just as many downsides as upsides, so you really have to do something more to take advantage of VR. Really curious about what they're going to do.
  3. Greetings. I am new to DarkRadiant and I'm working on my first rooms. I'm using an AI for scale during the process, and when I dmap and map the room to test it, the AI is showing up contorted and unmoving until it receives stimulus (eg. a body-shot with a water arrow). I've attached a picture for reference. While this would be a good effect for a horror mission, it's unwanted now. Why might this be happening? Cheers.
  4. The Game Awards 2019 has just concluded. "Sekiro" is Game of the Year and Best Action Adventure and I have to agree with that. It is such an excellent game. Never before did swordfight feel so authentic and brutal!! I would have also loved the new Star Wars game to become game of the year, but apparently, that game missed the deadline for 2019. I feel a little sad for "A Plageu Tale" that they didn't get Best Narrative, but Disco Elysium probably earned that title, too. "A Plague Tale" has an incredibly deep and ominous soundtrack and simply amazing medieval art direction (only animations are a little bit off). https://thegameawards.com/nominees?fbclid=IwAR1Y9UhwbydI_rIsZhJbxbzeMMedfAYFlrAzFzojVgX9XwHIrBgZOZObsd4
  5. Anyone noticed this game, which has you play as a Thief who enters an abandoned, haunted mansion ro steal 20 moneybags while avoiding a supernatural threat?
  6. Awkward excuse to shill a video I made, but what the hell, I spent almost 4 hours over the course of 3 days on this while recovering from having my wisdom teeth removed, so I feel as though it's warranted. Aside from this I'd say Hitman 2's entire assassination string in Japan on the castle, including the lead up to it. Death to Spies 1 had "Die, spies!" but even it wasn't as difficult as this was. What about you? What do you consider the greatest challenge a stealth game has ever leveled at you?
  7. How to reproduce: 1. Delete "tdm_fonts01.pk4" 2. Run the game in a terminal. Result: signal caught: Segmentation fault About to exit with code 0 Also these errors are printed to stdout, where it should be stderr. This is relevant because if the game crashes it cannot properly report that to a parent process. Such parent is needed, for example, for running the game with a single installation for all users on an Unix system.
  8. When I started playing the Dark Mod with a friend of mine we were quite surprised that such good game was not so well known. But after promoting it on libre gaming sites, as result of making a packager for it, I now discovered why is that. On one hand the game isn't on digital distribution platforms, which is the main way for proprietary games to get known. But more importantly the game media is licensed under a non comercial license. This results in libre gaming communities refusing to promote it, and the wide majority of Linux operating systems refusing to distribute it. So I would relicense its content under the CC-BY-SA license. It won't damage financially the game, but instead it will see a greater success.
  9. I haven't played for a while, but tried today. Played a bit, but noticed my save attempts weren't working. Can't do via QuickSave (F4/F5 for me) or hard save via the game's main menu. Console shows some errors like these (see image) Thoughts?
  10. Hi guys, just got a notification that starting now until 16th October Steam has a Stelath Game Sale, with a lot of games pretty cheap. Just in case you are interested.

version 2.1 is now uploaded to mirrors ready to download.

  11. By the way I feel the game misses an important feature, which is being able to remove campaigns from within it. Without having to manually remove files from the file manager.
  12. Hi guys, through the "cheats" topic I got the idea, that it would be quite useful, if there were tags for missions (the post was about removing the killing restriction in some missions to suit the prefered play style). I don't know how easy or difficult this is, but with them, it would be quite convenient to pick missions with playstyles, environment, etc one does want to use. This could also be expanded to other mission properties. I remember a discussion about climbable drains, handles on doors, that cannot be picked and other things the map author chooses for himself. That way these things would be clearer and as I said before, it is easier to choose missions with playstyles that suit oneself. What do think?

  14. I've recently updated the game to 2.07. I'm having a few problems. The menu Flickers and glitches when i move the mouse cursor over the words, this is not too concerning but it is a bit annoying after a while. The other problem I'm having is that during game-play there are some glitches that i think are to do with the light sources. They begin to glitch after a few seconds. Triangles where torch is: Random pale glitch in corner and flame in 2d: Inventory object not the correct image for split second. It's supposed to be a book: My computer stats are:Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bitCPU: AMD A10-7700K, Kaveri 28nm TechnologyRAM: 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 669MHz (9-9-10-24)Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. A88XM-PLUS (FM2+ )Graphics: N20WB (1680x1050@60Hz), 1024MB ATI AMD Radeon HD 5500 Series (XFX Pine Group) Any suggestions and help will be appreciated.I can get more screenshots if it helps.

Did the TDM team removed D3's internal Joypad feature? (tdm works only with systemkey binders for joysicks)

Thanks to shadrach, i got my joypad working in TDM on steam link!

  16. In one of the fan missions I was playing. "Briarwood Manor" When I enter the lobby, the game suddenly crashed on me. I saved my game thank god and was able to complete the mission without any more problems, but just wanted to point that out in maybe updating the mission file of getting rid of that bug. It's not my computer since I meet the requirements. Other fan missions work just fine, I tested a few other ones and was able to complete those as well.

  18. Downloaded 2.07 update, neither the x64 launcher nor the normal x32 launcher work. The x64 launcher only gives me a black screen and then goes back to desktop. The usual x32 launcher gets me a black screen with the TDM mouse in the center and nothing more, if I click around the game goes into not responding mode and crashes as well. Tried deleting and redownloading the game but still doesn't work. Is the forum working correctly? Can't upload any files from my game directory, but I can upload the DxDiag file (it says "Error You aren't permitted to upload this kind of a file"). DxDiag_laptop.txt
  19. got a email about this. link https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1252280491/firmament?ref=section-homepage-projectcollection-staff-picks-popular
  20. Nearly an hour of Googling gives me nothing, so here I am. I know that "music" means SFX in TDM and so the music is tied to other sounds. Turning down the SFX means turning down other sounds I don't want to lose. So, is there a way in the cfg file to disable all the music - you know what I mean, come on - without turning down other game elements? Sound has been so vital for the Thief games since they came out, and a clean, realistic soundscape is so important. I don't hear ambient musical drones in my head in real life, why should I have to have them cover up important sounds in the game? I'm sorry if this went off topic. I don't want to start a discussion about whether the ambient musical sounds are good or not. I really only want to know - can I disable this in game? If no, then no. If yes, how do I do it?
