Hi. For the last moth I've been secretly working on a small surprise. It's yet another demo showing some possibilities of the game engine. It's a small map with no objectives, but I hope you'll enjoy it.

 

Don't press escape after the mission starts or you will miss all the fun :)

Nice one Arcturus! Yeah it was a surprise! Just wondering if

the new character could be reskinned and used in other FMs

but not had time to check it out in DR yet!

It would take more than just new texture as I made custom rig.

 

how did you make that custom light/shadow for the floor - that is extremely cool!

I made it in Blender. I imported the models, copied their exact position, created light source in the same place as in DarkRadiant and then baked the shadows and ambient occlusion. Then I placed planes with that baked shadows as decals in the map.

Does this demo show a Cubemap \ Interior mapping style effect (well... in this case it would be exterior mapping) ?!?!

Hm, there are cubemaps but it's nothing new. They're described here: http://wiki.thedarkm...title=Cube_maps

      I posted about it before, but I think the default tdm logo video looks outdated. For a (i.m.o.) better looking version, you can download the pk4 attached to this post and plonk it in your tdm root folder. Every mission that starts with the tdm logo then starts with the better looking one. Try for example mission COS1 Pearls and Swine.
