Now see, that makes for an excellent scene - with interesting colour composition! :)

Come the time of peril, did the ground gape, and did the dead rest unquiet 'gainst us. Our bands of iron and hammers of stone prevailed not, and some did doubt the Builder's plan. But the seals held strong, and the few did triumph, and the doubters were lain into the foundations of the new sanctum. -- Collected letters of the Smith-in-Exile, Civitas Approved

The new version looks a lot more sophisiticated, but I do think the old version has its merrits, too. It looks a bit like an old temple or so.

Not just that; look at the ceiling patches, for example. I've never thought of using that particular texture that way, but it's effective.

Would someone like to convert into a proper model (rather than the basic ASE exported version) so we can included it in 1.08..

What's wrong with the .Ase? If what you mean is not the format but something with the model than i can do, but can only export to .ase as well.

It would be high time to include an .lwo export function in blender :)

Some nice stuff here btw, the quality standard really got high:)

Evening

Thought I would share some pictures of a King sized four poster bed that I built today! Would someone like to convert into a proper model (rather than the basic ASE exported version) so we can included it in 1.08..

Wow, very nice!

What's wrong with the .Ase?

Yes I can export as.ASE from DR, but if someone imported into a modelling program they could maybe reduce the amount of polys etc

so... thats a prefab? Nice...

Yup, the curtains are stock TDM but the rest I made today in a few hours.

Wow, very nice!

I can't take all the credit, the design was based of a famous bed here in the UK called "The great bed of ware" with my take on it. The bed was originally made by a carpenter Jonas Fosbrooke in 1580, the bed measures 3.38m long and 3.26m wide. Apparently its capable of sleeping 15 people at once. My model isn't so massive, its about a 3rd wider, longer and taller than the std TDM 4poster bed model and I imagine can take 4+ Ai.

That's a bad ass bed. I still have Lightwave installed on my computer and have wanted to make some architectural flourishes. But then there's a lot of things I want to do. -_-

What do you see when you turn out the light? I can't tell you but I know that it's mine.

I imagine this bed standing in the luxury suite of a brothel, to accommodate one John and up to three ... Janes. ^_^

  • 2 weeks later...

Trying to start a riot while running around my map in noclip mode. Quite difficult trying to get them altogether actually. As I'm in noclip they can't hit me and they end up hitting each other. I'm tring to get as many AI together before they start dying.

To the mappers out there: If anyone needs some modeling and texturing done, let me know. It's been a while since I had some time for my hobbies :) I was going through the list of wanted models but apparently that's mostly covered already, so I figured I'd ask for "quests" here to mappers directly... been playing skyrim lately :P

Was checking out old translation packs and decided to fire up TDM 1.07. Rightful Property with sub-20 FPS areas yay! ( same areas run at 180FPS with cranked eye candy on 2.12 )

i am so euphoric to see new FMs keep coming out and I am keen to try it out in my leisure time, then suddenly my PC is spouting a couple of S.M.A.R.T errors...
tbf i cannot afford myself to miss my network emulator image file&progress, important ebooks, hyper-v checkpoint & hyper-v export and the precious thief & TDM gamesaves. Don't fall yourself into & lay your hands on crappy SSD

Does anyone actually use the Normalise button in the Surface inspector? Even after looking at the code I'm not quite sure what it's for.

Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!
