I was thinking here, due to the nature of the usual encounters with zombies in FMs, that a fresh and mushy corpse doesn't make much sense. So I'm going for a more dry/leathery/mummy kind of zombie. How does that sound? Variation would be nice, of course.. but that's more consistent with an old crypt and stuff like that.

Maybe it is a good idea to make a starved-looking body, which could be simply retextured for an ancient-looking dry mummy corpse or a recently died mushy cadaver?

@ Diego - Would you be interested in making a ball mask? I'm working on a two part campaign and the second part will take place in a manor during a ball. I'd really like it if the guests had some masks to wear. Here's a link to a thread I made a couple of months ago

what happened to Noss' zombie model? He has made some progress on that afair.

 

Shhhhh! Keep it down... Two zombie models wouldnt hurt! :D But Siyah is right, if Nosslak did indeed kinda of give up on it, it would still be cool to take a look at his thread because there was a lot of discussion there about the new zombie character (you can start reading from this post http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/11496-nosslaks-stuff/page__view__findpost__p__280826).

 

And yes, as far as I can tell, the Doom zombie is proportioned well enough that a dried up "skin" or a mushy, decomposed "skin" will work in both cases.

Actually when I suggested the zombie I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek. We need a replacement for our current zombies, as that's one of the two major things that would have to go standalone. But that would have to come with a replacement set of animations as well.

Guys, you might want to start another thread in the I want to help section I'm guessing, as its not longer about about "what your working on"

 

Is it possible to reduce the whiteness on the spec map for the curtain?

Its a stock model Toni, are you asking me to create a patch based FS of this model for you..? if so drop me a PM.

This took about an hour or so to do, it starts with the stock tdm model to copy from, then a basic patch and finally a basic FS model - I have attached the prefab of the curtain, feel free to use/change it for your maps etc. :-)

That's great. Amazing how much you can accomplish with patches.

Yeah and those were just basic, taking more time over it would remove the hard edges and the bunching issue around the pleat rope. Also I think we could do with some net curtain textures as then i could add some sheers behind the drapes :-)

Well for something a bit different to what I normally post in here, I got a request over on ttlg to do some ghost voices. This took about 10min in audacity and the point is I/we should be able to make up a few of our own creature sounds... ;-D My skydrive link below or the attached zip file.

      Turns out my 15th anniversary mission idea has already been done once or twice before! I've been beaten to the punch once again, but I suppose that's to be expected when there's over 170 FMs out there, eh? I'm not complaining though, I love learning new tricks and taking inspiration from past FMs. Best of luck on your own fan missions!

      I wanna play Doom 3, but fhDoom has much better features than dhewm3, yet fhDoom is old, outdated and probably not supported. Damn!
      Makes me think that TDM engine for Doom 3 itself would actually be perfect.
