Amadeus Posted March 26, 2023 Report Posted March 26, 2023 Apparently not for Woodsie69, who is using Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon. In the bugtracker it is stated that the Linux version was Fedora32 (I know precious little about Linux). Perhaps @Daft Mugi wouldn't mind doing a bit of linux testing Quote FMs: A Good Neighbor, Eye on the Prize Co-FMs: Seeking Lady Leicester, Written in Stone, The Painter's Wife

Hey, so to clarify this point: Yes, the specific FM author has to implement it in their FM. This feature won't work on say, Tears of St. Lucia, as the authors of that map did not implement the feature. Usually the (very few) mission authors that use this will make a note about it on their FM release thread 1 Quote FMs: A Good Neighbor, Eye on the Prize Co-FMs: Seeking Lady Leicester, Written in Stone, The Painter's Wife

I believe the "working well" comment was in regards to "no crashing". Daft Mugi also demonstrated that the peek action is rendering the wrong data or viewport orientation. Not sure why it works in Windows and fails under Linux. Must be something in viewport translation math? Still pretty weird since other viewport translation code works in Linux too... 1 Quote Please visit TDM's IndieDB site and help promote the mod: http://www.indiedb.com/mods/the-dark-mod (Yeah, shameless promotion... but traffic is traffic folks...)

Daft Mugi Posted March 26, 2023 Report Posted March 26, 2023 Yeah, @nbohr1more is right about why I wrote "working well." The code change fixed the crash on Linux, but the keyhole view was odd. I thought the view was the same as Windows, because @AluminumHaste shared screenshots (from Windows?) that seemed to match what I saw on Linux. 2 Quote

wesp5 Posted March 27, 2023 Report Posted March 27, 2023 (edited) Have you tried the mission independent keyhole peeking which Snatcher created for his Modpack and I included in the Unofficial Patch? Does it look weird under Linux as well? Edited March 27, 2023 by wesp5 Quote

I was more wondering about the feature than missing it. Quote
Justice01 Posted March 29, 2023 Report Posted March 29, 2023 (edited) Recently updated to 2.11 and decided to go back and play "A house of locked secrets". Selected mission and TDM restarted. All I get now is a black screen upon load and have to force quit out of client. OS info: Edition Windows 10 Home Version 21H1 Installed on 6/13/2021 OS build 19043.2364 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4190.0 Can someone try this FM and see if they are able to reproduce? Also, to switch FM's manually, is it simply a matter of updating 'currentfm' file to a new name? (Just tried and answered my own question). Edited March 29, 2023 by Justice01 Quote

Black screen and I have to manually edit the lastfm file to get back to the game! Updating to the latest version does fix it though, as nbohr1more suggested... P.S.: I also noticed while testing this, that the bug that I complain about here regularily, that the downloaded missions are not deleted from the list after download, is only connected to the "Download all" option. If you only download one mission at a time this works fine! Edited March 29, 2023 by wesp5 Quote

Currently it also works for weapons laying next to each other (for example in map2 of A house of locked secrets), but if you do that then the hud items don't appear when you use them, making them impossible to use. Thanks for reporting! Committed fix as code rev 10448. 3 2 Quote

taffernicus Posted September 21, 2023 Report Posted September 21, 2023 (edited) Does the feature to distinguish readable and non readable books exist in TDM? i know it seems like cheating somehow but i have lost count of how may times i picked unreadable books from the stack of books lying on the table/desk i want to suggest one feature for the next TDM release, this might or might not be considerable & dismissible , How about allowing players to write notes with paper scroll, hiding in the closet, tamper proof document for city watch record room and bank, and make 19th century railroad lantern equipped wth focusing lens available to player?
