Please report any bugs or feature requests here in these forums, following these guidelines: Bugs (including steps for reproduction) can go directly on the tracker. When unsure about a bug/issue, feel free to ask. If you run into a crash, please record a crashdump: Crashdump Instructions Feature requests should be suggested (and possibly discussed) here in these forums before they may be added to the tracker. 2. Hey guys Im not new to mapping but I am new to Dark Radiant. Im therefore folloing springheels tutorial series on utube and having only started am only at the prefab stage. Ive installed as instructed both the prefab and the models but when i select the building exteriours they fail to load. I do see some components displayed in the preview window but mostly they are corrupt. eg missing textures, invisable etc. Can you suggest what i need to check to rectify this ? Thanks Keep on taffing
3. Ulysses 2: Protecting the Flock By Sotha The mission starts some time after the events of Ulysses: Genesis, and continues the story of Ulysses. It is a medium sized mission with a focus on stealthy assassinations and hostage liberation. BUILD TIME: 12/2014 - 05/2015 CREDITS The TDM Community is thanked for steady supply of excellent mapping advice. Thanks goes also to everyone contributing to TDM! Voice Actors: Goldwell (as Goubert and Ulysses), Goldwell's Girlfriend (as Alis) Betatesters: Airship Ballet, Ryan101. Special Thanks to: Springheel and Melan (for proofreading). Story: Read & listen it in game. Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwR0ORZU5sraRGduUWlVRmtsX3c/view?usp=sharing Other: Spoilers: When discussing, please use spoiler tags, like this:
Hidden text.
Mirrors: Could someone put this on TDM ingame downloader? Thanks!
4. @datiswous, made that correction fm_test.subs --> fm_conversations.subs @stgatilov, about srt naming and file location, would you be OK with the following edit? New/changed stuff in italics: srt command is followed by paths to a sound sample and its .srt file, typically with matching filenames. An .srt file is usually placed either with its sound file or in a "subtitles" folder. The .srt file format is described e.g. [1]. The file must be in engine-native encoding (internationalization is not supported yet anyway) and have no BOM mark. It contains a sequence of text messages to show during the sound sample, each with start and end timestamps within the sample's timeline. It is recommended to use common software to create .srt files for sound samples, instead of writing them manually. This way is more flexible but more complicated, and it is only necessary for long sounds, for instance sound sample of a briefing video. It's a simple enough standard that it can be shown as an short example, demonstrating that subtitle segments can have time gaps between them. And the example can show correct TDM usage, without requiring a trip off-site and picking through features that TDM doesn't support. Specifically, the example shows how to define two lines by direct entry, rather than using unsupported message location tags (X1, Y1, etc.). And skips other unavailable SRT font markups like italics, mentioned in the wikipedia description. The example would also show the TDM-specific path treatment. The example could be inserted before the sentence "It is recommended to use common software...."
5. OK I think I've got to the bottom of this. I've created this forum thread (with bug report): https://forums.thedarkmod.com/index.php?/topic/22221-bug-drowning-ai-in-shallow-water/ I can apply a workaround, although it won't be perfect and the bug itself needs fixing in the engine. There are a few other things that need fixing so will put an update together soonish.
6. If any mappers have encountered weirdness with kill objectives not working with drowning AI, I think I've found out why. I don't think it would be a particularly difficult one to fix either. I've raised this bug report: https://bugs.thedarkmod.com/view.php?id=6323 Some context here: https://forums.thedarkmod.com/index.php?/topic/21837-fan-mission-the-lieutenant-2-high-expectations-by-frost_salamander-20230424/&do=findComment&comment=487316 I think this is a bug, but just raising here in case some people think otherwise.
7. Still spreading the word about TDM on forums to new peops... Funny to see people say "Awesome, I loved playing Thief back in the day!"

Yes it was in a discussion where someone was saying how unhappy they are with the way game companies grant themselves permission to do whatever they like to your PC and personal info today. I pointed out that giving up games completely is an unnecessarily overkill solution when there are free games like TDM to play.

Honestly the mod/Indie genre is still really booming right now. And they aint got no reason to do shady invasive privacy bs.

8. ** As of 2.11 many of these assets have been further optimized and incorporated into the core mod** *These are reposted from the discord server* Conversions of cc0 licensed assets from https://polyhaven.com/models: **POLY HAVEN CC0 ASSET PACK 01 "SEATING"** - REV4 - narrow seats. wide seats - red seats. blue seats **POLY HAVEN CC0 ASSET PACK 02 "GOTHIC"** - Initial Release - Even more furniture - Interactive prefabs: Containers, cabinets, drawers, "working" grandfather clock - Fully modular pier kit - A very nice bed ! But AI can't sit in the chair ! Notes on "optimization": many of these meshes are particularly tricky for a very novice modeller as they contain a lot of smaller detail geometry which ideally would be baked into a normal map. That's a bit beyond me admittedly, so a much greater emphasis was put into keeping a higher level of detail but having as few shadow casting triangles as I could manage. The shadow mesh is typically only 10-20% of the overall polygon budget of an asset in the pack with some exceptions for the large "hero" assets like the bed.
9. Hey, My mission is done now, so I'd like to share some of the prefabs I made for it. The wood stick fence including all variants and a wood shed. Below are the zip files containing the prefabs and also a map file holding all prefabs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5renF90wpuw There are variants of fence for every type of rough timber we have. Woodshed, both empty and full + log pile: Be great if we could split a patch cylinder, so you could fix texture problems like the inside of the thatched roof here. http://www.mediafire.com/file/h1lc132jex7bkbw/NeonsStyle_Prefabs_for_Briarwood_Manor.zip Feel free to use them as you wish.
10. Author note: It's hard to believe it's already been a year since Act 1 came out! Well during this mission the player will be following Corbin into the Grimwood district to followup on a lead from last night (Act 1) .. the mysterious tablet! This mission is my first time including full EFX support as well as a HD briefing video file, additionally a new script has been added crafted by the talented Obsttorte which has loot flying towards the player when you pick it up. On a level design front I have tried to change things up a bit by really catering towards a number of play styles, this mission can be completely ghosted or you can use the tools at your disposal to wreak havoc on the citizens of Northdale. For the first time I have tried to create more sandbox environments which don't offer clear answers handed directly to you, so if you're having trouble figuring something out try a different method. This mission takes between 1 - 2 hours to finish depending on the difficulty you play on and how thoroughly you explore. I hope you enjoy your night in Northdale! - Goldwell Voice actors Fen Phoenix Goldwell Random_taffer Yandros Beta testers Amadeus Boiler's Hiss Cambridge Spy Chakkman Crowind Epifire Kingsal SquadaFroinx Custom Assets Andreas Rocha DrK Epifire Grayman Kingsal MalachiAD Obsttorte Sotha Springheel SquadaFroinx Purgator With special thanks to Epifire for creating a large collection of custom models, Grayman for helping out with coding, Kingsal for drawing the ingame map and Moonbo for his script revision on the briefing video. Available via in-game downloader MIRROR File Size: 417 mb EDIT: If you are having performance issues please consult this post by Nbohr1more which may address your issue http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/19936-fan-mission-shadows-of-northdale-act-ii-by-goldwell-20190320/page-2?do=findComment&comment=436271
11. Sorry, I tested again and could not reproduce the problem . What did happen yesterday though is that I was browsing through the prefabs and found that there were a lot of them double in the prefab selection interface. One of them (that was not double) gave DR a freeze (program does not respond anymore). Then I remembered that I installed @Springheel's prefabs which can be downloaded from here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sz5u398AgP4 (see link in the details) So I removed the extra prefabs which are now probably all in core anyway and the downloads are probably outdated. And indeed I just tested and concluded that the old MerryChest prefabs have bugs while the current core prefabs don't. So the bug report can be closed I think, if indeed this was also the cause of the problem which @Frost_Salamander had. @Springheel should remove the link to the prefab downloads in that youtube video every new mapper views, I think.

13. How you can help depends a lot on what skills you have. I can Record Video Recording "Let's Play" videos or simple walkthroughs of existing missions and posting them to Youtube is great exposure for the mod (see example .) Be sure to let us know so we can link to them. If you have some editing ability, Video tutorials, where you explain how the mod works, or how to use specific tools, would also be great. Video trailers, showcasing interesting places and features, are also great for publicity. An example is . I can Write Writing reviews for missions are always nice, especially if they include good screenshots. Not only does it give us something to post on other forums, but it makes mappers feel good when their mission gets attention (especially if it's positive). We have a collective thread to post reviews in: http://forums.thedar...s-walkthroughs/ Writing reviews of the mod as a whole, targetted an an audience that doesn't know much about TDM, is also very useful. You could also try offering your services to mappers to create interesting readables, or to proofread for their mission. I can Act and Record Audio We are always on the lookout for good quality audio recordings for vocal sets. If interested, you can pick a few different lines from this script: http://wiki.thedarkm...t:_Average_Jack and send the recordings to Springheel, who then writes a script based on the type of voice you have. I can Translate We could always use translations of our menu/hud into more languages. Also, only a few FMs are aavailable in more than one language, so there is a lot of work there, see the I18N Translator's Guide in the Wiki. I can Model Great! Take a look at the model request thread:http://forums.thedar...-requests-here/ and pick something that interests you. Or just post a, "Hey, anybody want a model?" thread in this forum and I'm sure mappers will get back to you. I can Animate Fantastic. We can always use more good animations. Our current character rigs use a Maya skeleton. PM Springheel for more info. I know C++ Have a look at our coding section in the wiki, pick an issue or feature from the bugtracker of the mod or the leveleditor, download the recent sourcecode release (or better ask for an SVN checkout) and get cracking. Make sure nobody is already working on that specific issue and feel free to ask questions. I can Edit Images We can always use completely new textures and/or improved versions of older textures. How to get started and how to import them into the mod. I can Take Photos Good quality photos of useful textures (medieval-ish building facades, dirt, rocks, wood, etc) are always welcome. The fewer directional shadows and higher resolution, the better. I don't have any skills Even if you can't do any of the above, you can still help out. Talk about TDM in other forums; share your (preferably positive) experiences with other gamers you know. Last, but not least, compliment people when you like their work. Saying "thanks", to a developer or, "I really enjoyed your mission" to a mapper will make their day. -------------------- I'll update this further as more things occur to me.
14. Brief overview GRAPHICS 1) Required OpenGL version raised to GL 3.3. This version is supposed to be final for the nearest years. ARB shaders removed completely. Some further cleanup done. 2) The rendering now works on the "new backend" by default, and the old backend is marked for removal in future. The new backend is not only a major refactoring of OpenGL-related code, but also a strong movement towards minimizing driver overhead. It includes improvements like: UBO streaming, bindless textures, multidrawindirect commands, lightgem triple buffering. 3) The additional color correction that got included into 2.08 has been disabled. Also gamma/brightness settings now affect everything, including: underwater, GUIs, menu, etc. As the result, the gamma/brightness behavior of TDM 2.07 is fully restored. 4) RGTC texture compression is now used by default for normal maps. The plan is to convert existing normal maps to DDS files with RGTC compression in future (to reduce load times). For now compression is done during level load. 5) The well-known cvar com_smp aka "Multi Core Enhancement" optimization has become stable enough to be enabled by default and to be removed from the settings menu. Its place in experimental settings is now taken by the new parallel optimization: cvar r_useParallelAddModels aka "Frontend Acceleration". Needless to say, this mode has got a major overhaul and numerous fixes. 6) Added sharpening filter, which is applied to the final rendered image and improves its look. It is enabled by default, controlled by "Sharpen Image" setting in the menu. 7) Fixed "borderless" fullscreen mode (Windows-only). Ironically, it was broken in 2.08 release and worked exactly the same as ordinary fullscreen mode. Now it should hopefully work as intended. MAPPING 1) First implementation of "hot reload" feature: updating new map changes without restarting game. It is also integrated into DarkRadiant (with the help of DarkRadiant devs , of course). Here is the wiki page about it (beware: it is quite technical ). Please report related issues and feedback to the dedicated forum discussion. 2) Finally, the rotation hack is totally removed from any map when player loads it. For any entity, bad rotation is embedded into its model. Internally, the transformed model is saved on player's machine as "proxy model" (4970). 3) Particle systems were greatly refactored, fixing the issue with bounding box (5136). Added "mapLayout linear" mode to particle static collisions, which allows snow or fire to stop at objects (5437). See also wiki page about particle collisions. 4) Every warning about missing image/sound is followed by detailed explanation how it was referenced. It is controlled by decl_stack cvar and is enabled by default. It is already helping us in a desperate fight with console warnings 5) A bunch of console warnings were fixed or disabled. More fixes will follow in future. 6) GUI scripts got some attention due to the story of menu refactoring (5323 - not done yet). Fixed awful bug about lost GUI commands. Added much more debug logging under LC_MAINMENU/LT_DEBUG. ASSETS 1 ) Added bed/shelf/desk prefabs and desk models by Dragofer. 2) Streamlined and cleaned up TDM's prefabs. Make sure to also get DR 2.11 for its greatly improved handling of prefabs! (5499) 3 ) Added new statue provided by LDAsh. 4 ) Added moving version of Epifire's steam engine as a prefab provided by bikerdude. (beta4) 5 ) Added blue version of the fire elemental. 6 ) Added display cabinet provided by bikerdude. 7 ) Added naval clock decorative item by Dragofer. 8 ) Added openable version of the display case with prefabs. 9 ) Added Dram's animated firefly particles and prefabs in 4 colours. 10) Added or restored ambient AI entities and prefabs. 11 ) Fixed sounds from unlit/extinguished gas lamp (5216). 12 ) Various asset fixes: cathedral_torn skin for paintings, chandelier_ornate02 model, restored prefab of AIs playing dice etc. 13 ) Fixes for the manbeast character by Dragofer and Kingsal. GAMEPLAY 1) Conversation and other sounds are no longer stopped by saving or going to main menu (4341). 2) Added experimental gamepad support (instructions here 5400). 3) Creeping now works in "always run" mode (5320). BUGFIXING cull objects behind mirrors (4946), AAS limit on dmap, inventory cursor crashes (5302), blurry parchments fonts, lockpick highlight, black screenshot in downloader (4488), crash on door unlocking (5318), hyphens in skin files (5322), doors stuck after long play (5331), bind/unbind crash (5409), custom fire arrows crash; TROUBLESHOOTING CVARS * r_useNewBackend --- which rendering backend to use. Default value of 1 means using the new one. In case of graphical issues, it might be worth trying to set it to 0 to check if issue goes away. Note: please report all problems which happen with value of 1, but don't happen with value of 0 ! Most likely the old backend will be deleted completely by TDM 2.10, so if there is any problem with it, it's better to know about it now. * r_usePersistentMapping, r_useMultiDrawIndirect, r_useBindlessTextures, r_gpuBufferNonpersistentUpdateMode --- cvars for enabling/disabling various code paths in rendering backend (some of them only work with new backend). In case of graphical problems, changing one of these might help. But even if it does, please report the original issue to us! * r_useParallelAddModels --- controls new acceleration for rendering frontend. Can be changed in Experimental graphics menu under name "Frontend Acceleration". It can potentially cause crashes, including rare and nondeterminstic ones =( * g_entityBindNew --- switches the code for binding entities between the old and the new one. Might be relevant in case of crashes, attachment/bind issues. * r_postprocess_XXX (6 cvars) --- affect color correction and gamma/brightness. If you decide to use old darkmod.cfg, then be sure to reset them all to defaults, otherwise you'll have overly bright main menu. MORE CVARS * r_shadowMapSinglePass --- experimental optimization for shadow maps only. By default it is 0 (disabled), it can be enabled to 1 (generate many shadow maps at once) and 2 (compute interactions from many light at once). We would be happy if you post your results * in_pad* --- configuring gamepad (experimental). See more info here. * decl_stack --- enables/disables "stack trace" for missing asset warnings. NEW COMMANDS * reloadMap --- that's manual hot reload command without DR. Forces reload of changes from the .map file. * respawn {entityname} --- deletes and spawns afresh entity with specified name (from .map file). * bindPadButton ??? --- controls experimental gamepad bindings, see instructions.
15. Hello TDM-ers. I am encountering an issue where textures seem to partially disappear. I tried searching the forums, but, I don't know what to search for. The missing textures are a worldspawn brush acting as a roof with {for now} flat iron texture. There are other worldspawn brushes right below to create an attic ceiling with roof framework board texture. These gaps appeared a few edits ago. I can't "undo" to get back before whatever edit did this. The gaps are only visible during play and are not visible during editing. Closing and reopening DR and TDM do not fix anything. Some of the brushes overlap in areas behind the play area but I have never seen an issue doing that. The attached image has the effect I am now seeing. Ideas on where to start debugging this? Very much appreciated. Clint
16. (I apologize for the odd poll question layout. I wasn't able to add five yes-no questions, because polls are limited to three questions.) Hi everyone, I've recently been working on some patches for issues that I've read about from players on the TDM and TTLG forums — and Discord. My goal is to make it as easy as possible for players, especially new players and those who need usability/accessibility options, to find what they need in order to have a better TDM experience. I've already written the GUI and game engine code for these settings, which I've been using in my personal build. The reason for this poll and discussion is to both guide the finalization of my work and collect data to help inform the dev team. Which patches I submit depend on the outcome of this poll, discussion, and what the dev team agrees to accept. Once decided, I can coordinate with the dev team. I've attached screenshots of what the new settings menu would look like if all of the settings are accepted. Below, I have detailed each menu setting, so you can have an easier time understanding each one. Very important to keep in mind: None of these settings change TDM default behavior. They are all opt-in. If you are already happy with the behavior of 2.10, 2.11, etc. and these menu settings are accepted, nothing will change for you. Rename "Always Run" to "Run Mode" with options "None, Always, Toggle" After 2.11 was released, @i30817 requested that "toggle run" be added to the settings menu. Its cvar is already in TDM as "in_toggleRun" (same as Doom 3). I propose renaming the "Always Run" setting to "Run Mode" with options: "None", "Always", and "Toggle". None = in_alwaysRun 0; in_toggleRun 0 Always = in_alwaysRun 1; in_toggleRun 0 Toggle = in_alwaysRun 0; in_toggleRun 1 Show Blackjack Helper @Wellingtoncrab suggested that the new blackjack helper be added to the settings menu. Its cvar was added to 2.11 as "tdm_blackjack_indicate". More info: It's the new blackjack helper added to 2.11. When the game detects that the blackjack can be used for a successful hit or KO, the blackjack will rise slightly. I propose a "Yes/No" setting for this. Slider for "View: Head Bob" @ChronA requested a way to disable head bobbing, because a viewer watching him play was having severe motion sickness. Also, there was a bug in TDM that made setting the head bob in the console not stick after loading a saved game. (Even with 2.11, if a mission overrides the "tdm_player_thief.def" file and sets "pm_bobroll", "pm_bobpitch", "pm_bobup", and other cvars, it will override player preferences.) As far back as 2008, players have had trouble setting head bob. Another one from 2018. At the end of 2022, @Shadowex3 registered just to voice the need for a way to control head bob. I propose that a slider be added to adjust the amount of head bob. This would use a new "pm_headbob_mod" cvar with a value between 0.0 and 1.0 (default 1.0, no change). The "pm_headbob_mod" would be a multiplier for "pm_bobroll", "pm_bobpitch", and "pm_bobup". The advantage to this approach is that missions like Volta 2 and Hazard Pay would not need to adjust their "tdm_player_thief.def" files for head bob to work properly. And, the player can still adjust "pm_bobroll", "pm_bobpitch", and "pm_bobup" as they like. Slider for "View: Mantle Roll" This is similar to head bob for those who are sensitive to motion. Its cvar was added to 2.11 as "pm_mantle_roll_mod". A Thief player on Discord said, "2.11 will have a cvar to tune down the mantling animation at last." I propose that a slider be added for "pm_mantle_roll_mod". Auto-Search Bodies @Zaratul requested the "auto-search bodies" feature from Thief 1 & 2. Its cvar was added to 2.12 dev16783-10307 as "tdm_autosearch_bodies". I did a poll on the a Thief Discord server and roughly 20% of players there use the Thief auto-search bodies feature. I propose a menu setting for this, so that players coming from Thief 1 & 2 can easily find it.
17. Awesome! Post is up! https://forums.thedarkmod.com/index.php?/topic/22200-beta-testing-the-house-of-delisle/#comment-487365 Thanks!
18. I'm having an odd issue placing a key in DR. If I place it on a desk, the character can't frob it, but I can put it on top of a cupboard or on the floor and it works fine. I'm not sure what's going on with the desk. I tried two different ones from the prefabs (desk1 and desk 2b) and I still run into the same problem. Strangely, there is a candlestick on the prefab desk and I can pick that up just fine, but not the key.
19. I like this idea, actually. Every time I make a prefab, I use it all over the place, only to then realize I did something wrong and now I have to fix it in like 10 or 20 places, or not fix it at all. Would be nice to be able to change once, and see it reflected everywhere, even across different maps. Currently, DR doesn't recognize prefabs as anything other than a regular group of objects. In other words, it's only a prefab while its in the .pfb file. Once you place it in the map, then it's only a bunch of objects like any other bunch. This requires that DR would recognize a prefab as an actual object. But it would have the potential to make building certain things much easier. That's indeed a concern, though. Maybe changing the original prefab could have no effect on anything. Perhaps the prefab, once placed in the map, could be stripped of any relation to the prefab in the file. And so, copying it around the map would still make it so changing one copy would affect all others, but those changes wouldn't carry across maps, and changing the original one wouldn't affect your map at all. (Though this would mean that placing that prefab in the map again, from the file, would make it belong to a new set of copies with no relation to the existing set). And in that case, DR could then provide an interface for replacing a prefab with another, and you could use that to update the ones in the map, where replacing one copy would replace all others of the same set. This would give the user complete control over when and how updated prefabs should affect their map.

20. Hi guys, through the "cheats" topic I got the idea, that it would be quite useful, if there were tags for missions (the post was about removing the killing restriction in some missions to suit the prefered play style). I don't know how easy or difficult this is, but with them, it would be quite convenient to pick missions with playstyles, environment, etc one does want to use. This could also be expanded to other mission properties. I remember a discussion about climbable drains, handles on doors, that cannot be picked and other things the map author chooses for himself. That way these things would be clearer and as I said before, it is easier to choose missions with playstyles that suit oneself. What do think?
21. I don't wanna sound lazy or spoiled by asking this question: I enjoy mapping, and DarkRadiant helps in not making the process all that hard! At the same time though, it is a lengthy and straining process, so I figure knowing this wouldn't hurt either. After all, scripts and prefabs and other contributions are shared throughout the community, so why not map chunks? But yeah: My question was whether any TDM contributors also publish any complete large structures for other mappers to use. By this I mean full buildings (with interiors), playable base landscapes, maybe even whole towns! I'm thinking of generic area templates that mappers can easily add characters to for their story, in case someone doesn't want to create their map from scratch. For instance, a whole town map with all roads and buildings laid out, entities for paths and doors and all other things, just no objectives or stories or characters as you add those yourself. Another problem is that if people abuse such templates, too many missions will end up looking the sane, which would of course get easily boring. This might be helped if perhaps just important pieces could be offered as prefabs... for instance various types of complete buildings, but it's still the player who makes the roads and places each one in each spot. Has anyone ever made and posted such a thing, and what do you think of the idea? This isn't a request thread mind you, unless merely bringing this up inspires anyone to do it... I'm only asking if anyone else's thought of this before. The reason I think it's a fun thought is that some missions have a few really nice areas, which are definitely created by talented mappers... therefore I wonder if bits of maps could be shared in a way that makes them easy to combine with one another, so that other missions can reuse good parts if of course their authors want that.
22. The electronic keypad is something I've wanted for a long time, along with laser tripped alarms which are next on my TODO list. I'm happy to announce they're a feature I just finished as part of a futuristic campaign I began working on! The version included here is extracted into an individual pk4 for other mappers to use. I may improve mine over time like using a GUI for the screen, for now this is a simple but finished version which does exactly everything intended. It consists of the custom script and def, models created and exported from DR reusing existing sounds and textures (only text labels had to be created), as well as prefabs for model sources and quickly placing a keypad on your map (broken or unpowered versions included). The device is operated using 12 buttons forming a numeric keypad inspired by old mobile phones, stand close look at each key and frob to input: Give your keypad a "text" spawnarg to set a password (multiple codes supported), entities targeted via "trigger_on_success" will execute when the correct code was typed, you may also set "trigger_on_fail" spawnargs to trigger targets when a bad code was written. Existing input can be cancelled with * and must be confirmed using the # key at the end, once unlocked pressing any key will re-trigger targets and lock the device back up. One aspect I'm unhappy with: I couldn't find a way for the script to directly access the entity triggering it. Because of this I had to define an additional "atdm:target_callobjectfunction" targeted by buttons which itself targets the keypad. This is only an annoyance for sanity's sake as I hoped I'd only need the keypad entity and individual buttons, yet there's also a little yellow cube sticking around which every button has to go through. Let me know if you're aware of a way to work around this; I know the script can use sys.onSignal(SIG_TRIGGER, self, "foo::bar") to run a function when triggered, but there doesn't seem to be a way to access the entity doing the triggering which is required to know which button was pressed and get its symbol. Here's the initial version with a few screenshots of how it looks and works. Feel free to use them in your FM's and share the result here! I'd love to see missions where you need to find codes in readables and remember them to access places, even having to piece them together from different sources... remember you can also use short passwords which are typed like an SMS hence the letters on the keys, for example "abe" would be "11122" (a = 1, b = 11, e = 22) 0 acts as space though I wouldn't write long sentences as they can be annoying to type in. electronic_keypad_v1.0.pk4
