Another question though. In the end stats it says 3 pickpockets. However, I counted 3 on guards in Leicester's manor (1 purse, 1 gallery key, and 1 guard orders note), plus 1 more note on a guest outside Gull & Barrels. That should be 4... The guest outside the restaurant is sitting though, perhaps that makes it not count?

You’re count of the purses seems to be correct - so I am actually not sure what is causing the aberration in the pick pocket statistics beyond something like the bug bigh is describing. There isn’t anything meaningfully different in how the attachments are setup that I can see. Will talk it over with the other devs and see if they have an ideas.

Great! I was just about to attempt a Supreme Ghost run. Also, I didn't actually know there was a potion in the canal. Is it underneath some debris?

Spoiler

Yeah it should be in broken barrel in the canal not far from the player start area IIRC

Let us know how it goes!

Just finished this. One of the easier missions except in that nightmare realm. I couldn't find all the loot for a change. But that might me a positive since many people might be looking for a challenge. The loot was definitely a warm welcome from me to not know they the heck I can open certain doors and get around the environment outside in the floating space between realms. Of course there was new assets galore in this which I sppreciated.

Do you usually find all the loot in TDM missions? I rarely to never find all loot, unlike in the original Thiefs.

TBH, I can't even remember if I ever found all the loot in any TDM missions. The mission authors seem to have a thing for very hard to find loot.

Been away for awhile so glad to see you guys are still here :) First of all congratulations on the completion of Grayman's mission, I think you've done it justice.  Finished this up the other day and did enjoy it

Spoiler

especially the "otherworld".

I got into the mansion pretty quickly but wanted to explore the surrounding area first, lots of area to search. I did feed the beggar (gotta take care of those less fortunate) and he gave me the tip for the new way in which encouraged further exploration. I like that. :) I cleaned house pretty quickly and went off in search of the lady. After rereading the clue, I found the access to the secret room/ doorway to the other world. I was not expecting that and began to explore. I found the brothers room, made my way through and explored the outside but I felt I was missing something.
I checked here and found that the floating objects could be jumped on, that helped a lot. I saved often as some of those jumps were tricky, for me anyways. So restarted that section (from the brothers room) and sure enough I missed the key to a few doors I'd seen. And the rest was history.
I found Wilson & opened the chest, opened the big safe & fed the well. I set the lady free as well as the other spirits and found it was very satisfying to dispatch the brother. Grabbed the inheritance too before calling it a night.

There were two tablets that I couldn't do anything with other than pick them up in the other world. I'm not sure if they were suppose to be readable or not. I couldn't read them and they didn't go into my inventory like the other two. One was in the area coming off the brothers room and the other was off what would have been the front door where there's a tower with chairs.

Again thank you for all your hard work, it was very much appreciated. :)

I think I could use some gentle hints.  Have found the following in the main mansion and seem to have run out of things to do:

Spoiler
  • The greenhouse at the top of the house
  • A sigil on the side of a bookcase on the floor below
  • The brother's sealed room with a hidden safe that clearly needs some special tool to open

Ground floor seems deserted, and didn't find anything of interest in the basement

Spoiler

hoped to find route via the coal merchant promised by the beggar (I came in over the bridge through the guardhouse)

and that seems to be that.  Having read this thread I have clearly missed something rather basic!

The first floor guards are all on high alert, but think that's because I took some conspicuous loot.  It's been surprisingly easy to maintain zero alerts so far, but I seem to have missed most of the mission...

You can get it through the in-game downloader. Typically the google links aren't intended to be permanent. They're just there until the mission's made available through TDM itself.

G'evenin! What's the story about where to get this here mission, these days -- seein' as the single, solitary GoogleDrive link is dead to rights?

Ah I see there's only one downloadlink on thiefguild.com ...

You can find seperate downloads for all missions here:

https://www.thedarkmod.com/missions/

Although it's best to use one system (in-game downloader or via website), because the built-in mission downloader doesn't work correctly with manual downloads and so it will state there is an update, even when you've already downloaded the newest version via the website.

Hey, sorry about that. I have been changing some things with my Google Drive account and this fell through the cracks. I'll restore the link within the hour. In the meantime, this FM is available via the in-game downloader if you want to get it there.

EDIT: Link restored, it should be working now. I guess I'll go check the other ones now

Finally I've got the time to give this mission a try, and after trying it, I stayed to complete it at least to 99%.

To say it shortly and bluntly; the mission is goddamn bloody fuckin' amazing and a real great testament to Grayman, may his soul reside in this amazing mission.

I can see the influence of Bikerdude in the mission itself, the very-well made and yet simplistic architecture, with of course the ever-so-obligatory Bikerdude's vertical challenges, this guy always puts some hard-to-reach loot in vertical places, mostly from bird nests.

And then when you get into, how you say it without spoiling it...Well let's say, the other city, I can quite clearly see some Dragofer and Wellingtoncrab (I've played this mission before Wellington's amazing Iris) influence there. Dragofer already was well-established for horror FMs, Wellingtoncrab made Iris which I will review next.

There are also quite some references and testaments to Grayman. For example, the painting was nice, but then we get the sculpture itself in the other city, it was beautiful.

Spoiler

Still with Grayman references, I have noticed that the "Other City" has Mother Rose, it's hard to see but it was quite a great reference.
And also the so many secrets about that Tiny Hat. Isn't that actually a WellingtonCrab special though?

Overall, this is one of the very best missions I have ever played, and there are only two things I regret when I played it:
One, it was not cold in my place. Sadly it's too fucking hot in here - and yes, even during this bloody month. Can you believe it?!
Two, I've had severe dry eye, which is still going, for 6 months. I don't think it would affect much, but I'm sure having dry eye for a long time has hit my mood, reducing my quality of life, and when I play TDM I want to be in the best of moods, which TDM always helps, but sadly TDM is no "miracle cure".

Overall, this is one of the best missions for TDM, I would even argue that it should be a part of the official campaign.

The Other City is such an amazing concept, I love it, I hope it gets visited again, by Dragofer and WellingtonCrab.

Spoiler

I've seen the precursors and they're mighty interesting, they're rather different compared to the Thief precursors, too.

Overall, I rate this mission 5/5, it's just perfect. I hope to replay it some day, too.

@The Black ArrowThanks for playing!

This mission was ultimately a collaboration in memory of Grayman, which I was privileged to help with, so I don't focus much on the "who did what" aspects, as everyone involved contributed a lot to what you played.

I do want to mention a huge contributor to this mission who was Amadeus. You can see his work across the entire mission, so if you liked this mission and you haven't played A Good Neighbor or Eye on the Prize you should check them out - as they are examples of some the best the game has to offer.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the kind words @The Black Arrow,  but if I could just offer a bit of insight into the collaboration, every part of this map was a group effort, no one individual was responsible for one area alone, and i think you might be surprised  as to who did what and where. Thanks for playing though, glad you dig it!

Yes, I've played "A Good Neighbor" before during a good time where there was also nice cold weather, "Eye on the Prize" is new to me, I'll check it out.

I was replaying this GEM of a mission and remembering

Spoiler

it was a tribute to Grayman found this in the evidence room at the City Watch station:

image.thumb.jpeg.abdadfc270f13e4576469d36931d5060.jpeg

Chuckled, then wept.

Thanks to this forum thread I also discovered

Spoiler

what were the special items for. 🙂
The safe code (Bond reference? :p) I found during this replay just by accident and it made me laugh.

As for one of the secrets, well,

Spoiler

if only I saw Kopfrkingl's screenshot earlier! Too much of a foodie am I, it seems 😉

HUGE thank you to all of the creators of this mission!

Great mission! I can't believe this actually worked on my old computer without reducing texture or rendering quality, only had a bit of lag, mostly after loading and some areas. The other realm reminds me a lot of dishonored, even some of the manor's atmosphere too.

TDM gets better with each update regarding optimization because i remember having some trouble with missions smaller than this one.

Also R.I.P Grayman. I never knew or spoke to him, but his missions were the first along with the official i played and made me like TDM.

Wow!  This is amazing! This mission is now on my list of favorites in any game.  I was blown away, and super scared during the second half,  but still could not stop playing.  Thank you.

I posted about it before, but I think the default tdm logo video looks outdated. For a (i.m.o.) better looking version, you can download the pk4 attached to this post and plonk it in your tdm root folder. Every mission that starts with the tdm logo then starts with the better looking one. Try for example mission COS1 Pearls and Swine.

I finished DOOM - The Dark Ages the other day. It is a decent shooter, but not as great as its predecessors, especially because of the soundtrack.
